“I am a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner who works with children, teens, and adults. I offer medication management (for ages 6 and up) and psychotherapy (for ages 16 and up), depending on your needs. I work with people facing a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, and issues related to pregnancy and postpartum mental health.
My training and approach to therapy is rooted in contemporary psychodynamic theory, which means we explore how your past experiences and relationships might be affecting how you feel today. I also draw from other tools—like cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy—when they’re helpful. I believe in looking beyond just symptoms and getting to the deeper causes of what’s going on. I come from a nursing background which focuses on treating each individual holistically.
What does it mean to treat holistically?
In nursing, holistic care means recognizing the connection between a patient’s physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual health. It goes beyond treating just the symptoms or illness, taking into account the individual’s unique circumstances, including their lifestyle, environment, and personal beliefs, to foster healing and well-being.”
